Second Team Coach required
We are currently recruiting for a new second team “Saints” coach for the Season 2013/14
Dear All
The IRB Sevens at Twickenham fortuitously falls on the same day as the OPRFC End of Season dinner – 11th May. “Hell yes!” I hear you all cry. I am planning on using this as a warm up for the event of the year so that my banter doesn’t stink regular-style at 6pm when festivities get under way.
I was planning on booking a small minibus to take us there (from Ealing) at about 10.30am and pick us up around 5pm and deliver us direct to The New Inn at 6.
Total cost each should be no more than £20-£25 each including the bus and ticket depending on the number of attendees and you can pay me cash on the day or transfer funds. I am happy to front it for now.
If fancy dress, sunshine beers and being excellent very early in the day appeals please let me know by Friday 12th April at the following email address: peter.o’neill@aon.co.uk
Yours eternally,
Pon x
Dress Code: As per usual, shoes, jeans/trousers, shirt and club tie (we're trying to get some more ties for the night so school ties will also be acceptable. Lack of full dress will result in punishment, and there will also be a prize for best/worst dressed, so dress to impress, unless your name is Luke, in which case you may want to tone it down a bit). I can’t remember being this excited before a weekend of OPRFC fixtures with both teams playing in games that can make or break their season. The Twisters (1st XV) host Twickenham RFC at 2.30pm and the Saints (2nd) take on Rosslyn Park VI at 1pm.
The Twisters find themselves unbeaten and second in London 3 NW behind Twickenham but only due to the fact they have a game in hand against them having already beaten Twickenham 21-10 with the aid of a last minute try. Twickenham seem to be displaying slightly better form then us but we have been winning ugly which is often the mark of champions. I am fully confident that Saturdays encounter will offer a very entertaining match with the improving conditions helping us deliver the style of rugby this club has become associated with.
The Saints are in a dog fight for the playoff position with a four way fight forming for the last two playoff places. They come off the back of the performance of their season beating HAC 2s who sit at top of their league to keep them in the running for the playoff spot.( top 4) They sit 4th in the league but play Rosslyn Park and Belsize Park over the next two weeks who are currently 5th and 6th. Victory in these game will see them guaranteed of a playoff spot. If you have played for the OPRFC before I would ask you to do your best to make training TONIGHT and yourself available for the rest of the season to achieve promotion for both sides come the end of the season.
The club will be watching the England Game after the Twisters match either at Perivale or the Kent so please try and get a lift to the matches so you can stay around for a few team bonding beers straight after.
